Is using Augmented Reality in the classroom an achieveable, affordable thing to do?
Did you know it is currently being used in classrooms around the world? Check out this video and you can begin to see the possibilities:

How might a teacher use augmented reality in the classroom? You could use it to teach science, math, literature. I have an idea to use it to teach students about Explorers, where they went and what they disovered, as well as what they encountered. What ideas come to your mind?
This is a great use of a blog and one that is in high demand. I am now following you on Twitter, so I will be notified when you post to the blog. I look forward to seeing this develop.
ReplyDeleteThe aesthetic and design of this blog really reinforce the outdoor aspect of AR. Check out this article by a colleague of mine doing great work at UW-M: http://spotlight.macfound.org/featured-stories/entry/prototyping-our-way-to-reforming-education/
ReplyDeleteThis format is great. Very inviting.
ReplyDeleteI'm very eager to see how your AR work proceeds and develops. I'm interested in this area too, but chose to focus on iPod/iPad integration this semester. I hope to learn a lot from your blog.
ReplyDeleteWhat grade are you planning to integrate Augmented Reality? I really wanted to create a scavenger hunt/game for classroom use but I'm in Kindergarten this semester and honestly, could not see myself using an outdoor augmented reality game with 5- and 6-years-old.
ReplyDeleteElise,
ReplyDeleteI am planning my first activity with a fourth grade class. I do think it could be difficult to do this with kindergarten, although not impossible. It may work with lots of extra hands to help.
I think you've chosen a very challenging as well as potentially rewarding focus. I'll look forward to your progress.
ReplyDeleteVery different approach from the other blogs that I have seen. As everyone else, I look forward to seeing how this evolves.
